a HIDDEN TREASURE OF ITALY
BRISIGHELLA'S WINE HERITAGE SINCE 1763
Cà Montalbano Winery was born in 1981 from the remains of what was an ancient rural building built in 1763, keeping the historical landmark name, as a modern winery has become a well-known local wine producer for the quality, consistency and the irreverent blending taste of the wines.
With 22 vineyards hectares entirely oriented to the southwest and millenary olive trees belonging to the autochthonous Brisighella's Olive Trees cultivar, Ca' Montalbano produce extra virgin olive oil and high-quality wines thanks to the very low yields per hectare and a deep care in product research.
Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Malvasia are the grapes that adapt themselves to a careful harvest and a vinification process that exalt those who are the natural grapes, a perfect mix of tradition and taste for a high-class modern wine bottle.
The vineyards grow with minimal intervention as well as a timely pruning performed in order to limit the production of grapes for emphasizing the organoleptic characteristics and the persistence of the flavor.
Low yields favored by freezing winters and dry summers with stinging cold nights drive through late September harvests,
wisely hand selected bunches give to our wines a delicate and distinctive flavor and promote the inevitable differences between each season.Delicate passages in wooden barrels soften the tannins and projecting toward a prolonged natural aging over time while refining the taste and embracing the history of Romagna's wine land.
The Brisghella's wine heritage is a millenial history of Sangiovese Grapes, that trough decades of refining has found his direct evolution in blend products and pure Sangiovese bottles. Lately thank the altitude and the extremely cold winters the research of white wines came to a blend of Chardonnay and Malvasia in a unique bouquet and in a polite perlage in the light sparkling chapenoise bottle.
The production project is based on the choice to exclusively produce grapes of its own production, so as to favor a constant and accurate quality research. The screws are priced so as to obtain a limited amount of fruit; When overflowing, the newly-formed clusters, if necessary, are dimmed; During harvest, only the best of the crop becomes wine. Each bottle, in the end, is like a poem that is discovered in the color, it is read in the perfume, is interpreted with taste.
The last years of wine explorations have been characterized by important investments in the research and experimentation of clonal choices and various types of plants, in order to refine more and to the origin, the quality of the grapes.
